Garage door repair estimator for springs, openers, cables and panels
A broken torsion spring is an urgent, well-understood job with a predictable price — and the company that answers with a number usually wins it. Quick Quote Gen prices springs, opener faults, off-track doors, cable problems, panel damage and tune-ups from your service call, job labour and per-spring or per-panel parts, adjusted for door size, material and access. Full door replacement, collapsed doors and commercial rolling doors are held back for measurement and review.
What this trade loses today
- Spring failures are emergencies: whoever gives a real number first gets the job.
- Double and oversized doors need heavier springs, but get quoted at single-door prices.
- Opener faults range from a dead remote to failed gears, and one flat "opener repair" price loses money on both ends.
- Wood and glass doors need special-order sections that a phone quote cannot cover.
We already know what changes the price in this trade
These are the questions QuickQuoteGen asks your customer. Every one maps to a pricing rule you control, so the estimate reflects how you actually charge.
What they need
Repair or troubleshoot, spring replacement, opener issue, off-track or cable, panel damage, new opener install or a tune-up.
Door size and material
Single, double or oversized width, and steel, insulated steel, wood, glass or composite construction.
Spring type and count
Torsion or extension springs, and how many need replacing.
What the door is doing now
Closed, stuck part-open or stuck open; a collapsed door is inspected instead of priced.
Track and cable condition
Rollers out and cables off the drum price normally; bent tracks and frame damage escalate.
Opener detail and urgency
Chain, belt, screw or jackshaft drive, the specific opener symptom, plus travel and after-hours adders.

Jobs we deliberately do not price instantly
The calculator only returns a range where a range is honest. These requests still capture the lead — the customer is told it will be quoted after a review or a site visit.
- Full door replacement or a new install — measured and quoted by the owner.
- Commercial rolling and industrial doors.
- Custom wood, aluminium-and-glass and composite doors, which use special-order sections.
- Doors that have come down or partially collapsed, and severe track or frame damage.
- Anything the customer marks as unclear scope.
After the estimate
- Spring type, count, door size and material arrive with the lead, so the right springs are on the van.
- Same-day spring failures are flagged as hot so they get routed before routine tune-ups.
- Replacement enquiries land as review-flagged leads with photos, ready for a measure-and-quote appointment.
Customers who can't describe the job can send a photo instead.
Questions owners ask
- Can you really quote springs from a form?
- For a standard steel single or double door, yes — spring type, count and door size are enough for an honest range that you confirm on arrival.
- What if the customer does not know the spring type?
- "Not sure" is an accepted answer with a slightly wider factor, and a photo of the door above the opening usually settles it before you arrive.
- Does it quote a new door?
- No. Full replacement is review-only: openings need measuring and sections need ordering, so the customer is told it will be quoted after a visit.
- Will it work alongside our dispatch software?
- Yes. It is the quoting and lead-capture layer in front of your existing scheduling and invoicing.
