Appliance repair estimator that prices the visit, the labour and the parts allowance
Appliance customers are really asking two questions: what does the visit cost, and is it worth fixing? Quick Quote Gen answers both with a range built from your service-visit fee, symptom-based labour and a parts allowance, adjusted for appliance, brand tier, install type and access — and it holds back the jobs where the parts cost is unknowable, like sealed refrigeration systems, control boards and luxury or commercial equipment.
What this trade loses today
- "How much to fix a dryer?" cannot be answered without the symptom, and callers will not wait for a technician to call back.
- Luxury and built-in appliances take longer and use special-order parts, but get quoted like a standard freestanding unit.
- Stacked towers and tight laundry closets add real time that the phone quote ignores.
- In-warranty calls get booked as paid work and then cancelled at the door.
We already know what changes the price in this trade
These are the questions QuickQuoteGen asks your customer. Every one maps to a pricing rule you control, so the estimate reflects how you actually charge.
Which appliance
Refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven or range, microwave, or something else.
Symptom
No heat, won't drain, door or seal fault, element or igniter, noisy or won't spin — each carries its own labour band.
Brand tier
Standard or premium price normally; luxury and specialty brands are flagged for review on parts.
How it is installed
Freestanding, under-counter, built-in or a stacked washer/dryer tower changes access time.
Warranty status
An in-warranty appliance is flagged before you dispatch a paid visit.
Access, gas or electric, and age
Tight closets, stairs, fuel type and appliance age all adjust the estimate you publish.
A worked example
Sample pricing only: freestanding electric dryer with no heat, standard brand, open access, roughly 1.5 hours.

- Standard brand tier
- no uplift
Estimated range
$346 – $544
Final price confirmed after review
Sample pricing for illustration only. Estimated ranges are not a binding quote: every range is built from the rates you set and is confirmed before work is booked.
Jobs we deliberately do not price instantly
The calculator only returns a range where a range is honest. These requests still capture the lead — the customer is told it will be quoted after a review or a site visit.
- Refrigerator sealed-system faults, where refrigerant work sets the cost.
- Control board, inverter and main-electronics failures with special-order parts.
- Luxury or specialty brands (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Miele, Thermador and similar) and commercial equipment.
- Built-in, fully integrated or stacked installations that must be removed to be serviced.
- Any gas smell, soot, sparking, smoke or suspected refrigerant leak — safety review before pricing.
After the estimate
- Appliance, model photo and symptom arrive together, so common parts can travel with the technician.
- In-warranty and manufacturer-service cases are separated from paid work before the visit is booked.
- Repair-or-replace conversations start from a number the customer has already seen, not a cold call.
Customers who can't describe the job can send a photo instead.
Questions owners ask
- How can you estimate parts you have not seen?
- The estimate carries a parts allowance for the stated symptom, shown as a range. When the part is unpredictable — sealed systems, control boards, luxury brands — the job goes to review instead.
- Can I show a diagnostic fee that is credited toward the repair?
- Yes. The visit fee and how you treat it are yours to configure and to word on the quote.
- Does it stop wasted trips on warranty calls?
- Warranty status is an explicit question, so an in-warranty appliance is visible before you dispatch.
- Is this a replacement for our job management software?
- No. It quotes and captures the lead; your existing system keeps scheduling, parts ordering and invoicing.
