How to Add a Plumbing Quote Calculator to Your Website

You get a hosted quote page with its own link. From there you have six placements: a button on your website, an embedded widget inside an existing page, a dedicated quote page, your business profile and social links, a QR code on printed material, and a texted link. Add the button first, confirm a test request arrives, then expand.

Quick Quote Gen Editorial TeamUpdated 2026-09-019 min read

Quick Quote Gen produces a preliminary estimated price range from owner-controlled pricing rules. It is not a binding quote. The final price is confirmed by the business after review, and after an on-site inspection when the job requires one.

The six placements, in order of effort

  1. 1. Website button or link

The fastest option and the one to do first. Add a clearly labelled button — "Get a preliminary estimate" reads better than "Get a quote", because it is true — that opens your quote link. Put it in the header, in the hero, and at the end of each service page.

  2. 2. Embedded widget

The quote flow supports an embed mode, so it can be placed inside an existing page on your own site rather than sending visitors to a separate link. Use it where you already have a page that ranks and you do not want to lose the visitor.

  3. 3. Dedicated quote page

A single page on your site whose only job is the calculator, linked from your navigation. Useful as the destination for ads, profile links and QR codes because there is nothing else to click.

  4. 4. Business profile and directory links

Most business profile and directory listings let you set a website or appointment link. Pointing that at your quote page is a generally applicable option — there is no special integration involved, and each platform's own rules apply.

  5. 5. Social profile link

The single link slot on a social profile is worth more as a quote link than as a homepage link, because the visitor already knows who you are.

  6. 6. QR code on printed material

Van signage, invoices, door hangers, magnets. Generate a QR code that points at your quote link, then scan it yourself from a phone before you print two thousand of anything.

Texting the link

Sending your quote link by text is effective and it is also regulated. Only text people who have given consent, honour opt-outs immediately, and check the rules that apply to your business with someone qualified. This is not legal advice.

Where placement actually pays

  • Above the fold on the homepage, next to the phone number rather than instead of it.
  • At the bottom of every service page, where the visitor has just finished reading about their exact problem.
  • On the contact page, as the primary action, with the phone number as the alternative.
  • In the sticky mobile bar if your site has one — much plumbing traffic arrives on a phone.
  • Not in the footer only. A footer-only link is a link nobody clicks.

Keep the phone number visible

A calculator is an addition, not a replacement. Some customers with water on the floor will want to call instead, and they should be able to.

Launch checklist

Before you announce it

  • Your service list uses customer language, not trade shorthand
  • Every ranged service has a minimum charge set
  • Every job that needs inspection is marked as review-only, with a reason the customer can read
  • The preliminary-estimate disclaimer is visible on the result screen
  • Your business name, contact details and service area are correct
  • You have submitted a test request yourself and received the notification
  • The notification reaches a phone or inbox someone actually checks
  • The link works on a phone, on mobile data, in under three seconds
  • The button label sets an honest expectation
  • You know who is calling these people back, and when

Conversion tracking checklist

So you can tell whether it worked

  • Record your baseline: enquiries per month before launch
  • Use a distinct link or source parameter per placement so you can tell them apart
  • Track quote page visits separately from requests submitted
  • Track requests submitted separately from jobs you actually won
  • Review completion by step to find where people abandon
  • Check the numbers monthly, not daily — weekly noise will mislead you
  • Compare like with like: plumbing demand is seasonal

What to do next

Open the plumbing demo and click through it as a customer would, then set up your own service list and pricing rules. If you want to sort your numbers out first, the pricing worksheet is the place to start.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a developer to add this to my website?
For a button or link, no — any website editor can add a link. For the embedded widget, someone comfortable editing your site's page content will get it done quickly.
Will it work on my existing website builder?
A link works everywhere. An embed works anywhere you can insert an embed block, which covers the common website builders.
What should the button say?
Something honest and specific. "Get a preliminary estimate" or "See an estimated price range" set the right expectation; "Instant quote" promises something a calculator cannot deliver for every plumbing job.
